Mobberley Brewhouse ramps up focus on kegs and cans
The Mobberley Brewhouse in Cheshire is launching a range of experimental beers.
The limited edition beers, called The White Label Project, follows the success of its keg and can range, which was launched in 2017.
The new range will initially include two beers – Batch 1000, a 10% Abv Imperial IPA to celebrate the brewery’s one thousandth brew; and Save the Date, a double dry hopped 5.8% abv IPA. The brewer aims to release a new White Label Beer at least every eight weeks.
James Roberts, head brewer, said: “The motivation for launching this limited-edition range is to build on our brewing skills and use these short-run beers for exploration and innovation. Our brewing style is constantly evolving as we play around with different techniques and ingredients. This smaller scale brewing will mean we can trial many more techniques to vary the flavour, strength and texture of our beer. Take ‘Batch 1000’ for example, brewing a 10% strength beer brought with it lots of challenges and has been a great experiement on how to balance strength with flavour.”
Cask beer still forms the bulk of the Mobberley Brewhouse business but the producer is investing in both its keg and can line up, which it foresees will account for 70% of its production by 2019.
