Diageo Reserve adds Casamigos Tequila to portfolio

10 April, 2018

Diageo has announced Casamigos Tequila and the soon-to-be-released Casamigos Mezcal will join its Diageo Reserve portfolio in Europe.

Drinks giant Diageo acquired the brand last year with the aim of growing the premium tequila category alongside Don Julio Tequila. The Casamigos brand sold more than 200,000 cases worldwide in 2017.

Casamigos Mezcal will join the portfolio in the future in the style of Joven (or Blanco). The Mezcal is described as “balanced and elegant, smoked to perfection and offering harmonious hints of tamarind, pomegranate and mango”.

Rande Gerber, co-founder of Casamigos, said: “We are extremely excited that Casamigos will be joining Diageo Reserve and furthering our expansion and availability throughout Europe.”

Tanya Clarke, general manager Europe, Diageo Reserve, said: “We are really looking forward to building the Casamigos brand in key cities and resorts across Europe and have enjoyed already working with the founders to leverage their significant experience in winning within this high growth luxury tequila segment.”
