Savanna adds hop-infused cider to portfolio

29 March, 2018

Savanna, the South African premium cider brand, has added a hop-flavoured variant to its range.

Savanna Cross is described as a “distinctly smooth cider with a real hop flavour”, offering consumers the refreshment of Savanna Cider with the “intriguing taste profile of beer”.

The new variant has been created to help extend the brand to reach a wider market. The producer said it hopes the drink will appeal to beer drinkers looking for a lighter choice, as well as cider fans looking for something new and those totally new to the category who might be looking for a thirst-quenching option.

Amy Burns, marketing manager at brand owner Distell, said: “As a brand, Savanna is always looking to bring something different to cider consumers – from conveying our South African heritage and expert ability to create a crisp drink which tantilises the taste buds, to our latest release, Savanna Cross.

“We believe Savanna Cross offers something different for everyone; it has the distinctive refreshing cider taste we are known for with a special twist, and because it is less sweet than most ciders it can be savoured over a longer period, or chosen as a lighter alternative to beer.”
