London Burgundy Week will be scaled up for 2018

London Burgundy Week is set to return from 19 to 23 March.

The event is a week of celebration and promotion of the Burgundy region and its wines. The week will see many of the UK’s most passionate Burgundy specialist merchants host a variety of focused masterclasses and winemaker dinners at varied venues across London.

The inaugural London Burgundy Week took place at the end of June 2017 and it comprised six UK wine merchants and Burgundy specialists who co-hosted events with five winemakers throughout the week at Cabotte, with an overall 183 guests.

The full programme of activities remains to be revealed but the organisers are working to scale up the event this year.

London Burgundy Week was created by Jason Haynes, director of Flint Wines.

He said: “For many of us Burgundy is the most exciting wine region in the world, abounding of now legendary domains and great wines. Yet it remains approachable and informal. We wanted to establish an experience that embraces both the brilliance of the wines and the informality of the winemakers.

“By inviting the growers over for the week wine lovers won’t just learn about the subtle nuances of these amazing wines but they will also get to know the people who make them on a personal level.

“We will be revealing the full programme of activities very soon but we want to thank all the partners who have accepted to take part to LBW this year and to embark on this adventure with us. Judging by last year, we are all in for a treat.”
