Cognac to feature in new London-based event

01 February, 2018

An epicurean event focusing on Cognac is set to launch next week at the Shoreditch specialist spirits retailer, TT Liquor.

The first ever Cognac Experience, organised by the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) aims to unite different cognac producers who will bring cognacs ranging from VS to XO as well as special editions, single vineyard and vintage examples.

The tasting gives consumers a chance to talk to these producers as well as tasting and experiencing a wide variety of cognacs and serves.

The new event follows the announcement - at the end of 2017 - of a new brand identity for the cognac appellation. The event, which takes place on 6 February, will align with the new identity for cognac, and, according to Claire Caillaud, BNIC Director of Communication, it will “reinforce the image of a product with a guaranteed origin and authenticity and reaffirm its role within French vinous and gastronomic know-how”.

She added: “Authenticity, heritage and terroir are at the heart of the new identity; concepts that are central to today’s expectations of the current spirits market.”
