North South Wines appoints new MD

North South Wines has appointed Kim Wilson as its new managing director.

Wilson was one of the original founders of North South Wines and has held the role of commercial director for the past four years.

The company, which was set up in 2014, describes itself as “a dynamic, energetic company, quick to spot trends and market opportunities”.

It has experienced rapid growth since launch and will break one million nine litre case sales in 2018.

Wilson heads up the management team, which includes fellow company founders Joy Edmondson, who is the buying and marketing director; and Hamish Gillespie, finance and operations director.

Victor de Bortoli, shareholder and director, said: “Since the beginning Kim has very much beer the driving force behind North South Wines; she is a natural leader and has the necessary skills to take the company to the next level. These are exciting times for the company and we are confident that it will be in good hands going forward.”

Wilson commented: “In the past four years we have worked hard to build solid foundations. We have a great team on the ground in the UK and fantastic partnerships with our wineries and producer shareholders. I am excited to be in this new role and looking forward to seeing what we will achieve in the next four years.”

North South Wines will hold its second annual portfolio tastings in London on the 7th of February, Manchester on the 20th of February and Exeter on the 22nd of February.
