London gets new non-alcoholic brewery

05 December, 2017

Nirvana Brewery, which claims to be the UK’s only non-alcoholic brewery based in East London, has launched two beers into the off-trade.

The brewer’s Kosmic Stout and Tantra Pale Ale have secured listings with Whole Foods, and they are also available through Borough Wines, Eat17, We Brought Beer and online via www.alesbymail.co.uk and www.drydrinker.com.

Kosmic Stout is a dark and rich beer with deep aromas of chocolate and hints of vanilla, balanced by a smooth toasted malt base, according to the producer.

Tantra is described as a traditional English pale ale made with lightly roasted barley, giving a caramel malt body that is balanced with a lingering crisp hop bitterness.

Nirvana aims to take a “holistic” approach, whereby it offers a “cleaner, healthier alternative” to beer. The company said it event hosts ‘beer yoga’ sessions called ‘Mats and Vats’ in its brewery surroundings once a week, whereby yogis are invited to a 75 minute yoga session, followed by a tasting of non-alcoholic craft ales and a selection of home-cooked vegetarian Indian snacks.
