Innis & Gunn reveals first of its Vanishing Point beers

28 November, 2017

Innis & Gunn has released the first of its new Vanishing Point beers; a series of barrel-aged brews which aim to reflect the apex at which the skills and passion of its brewers converge with its ambitions to create exceptional beers.

The first in the series is Vanishing Point 01, described as a “rich and robust” Imperial Stout. The beer is aged in first-fill bourbon barrels for 200 days, resulting in a 11% abv imperial stout beer. The taste is silky-smooth with the full flavour of rich bourbon oak and “packed with character”, according to the brewer.

Dougal Gunn Sharp, founder and master brewer, said: “Passion and flavour is at the heart of our beers and in Vanishing Point we have created an incredible balanced and bold beer that is absolutely packed to the brim with massive aromas and flavour. It was in barrel for six months at our barrel store in Perth, and we are already working on the next in the series, which is in barrels now and will be released towards the end of 2018. It is hugely exciting making these beers and we are really pushing the boundaries of what we can do.”

The limited edition beer is available in 50cl bottles, priced at £9.95 per bottle.
