Buckingham Schenk introduces Italian newcomer to UK

20 November, 2017

Buckingham Schenk has launched Sette Muri Brindisi Riserva into the UK market.

The wine, which has already secured a listing with Tesco, where it is priced at £10, is produced by Schenk Italian Wineries.

Sette Muri is Italian for Seven Walls, and it refers to the walled paths that line the vineyards of Brindisi, which is one of the most historic and ancient cities in Europe. The wine was given a slow maturation in French oak barrels for six months, resulting in a full-bodied wine with soft tannins and vanilla notes on the finish.

Schenk Italian Wineries is part of The Schenk Wine Group, which was founded in Switzerland in 1893 and is one of Europe’s largest family-owned wine companies.

Andy Rawlinson, sales director, said: “We are incredibly privileged to have such a strong partner as Schenk Italian Wineries and their portfolio is astounding. The Sette Muri is a real gem and demonstrates the incredible quality that they can produce. We have worked closely with Tesco to deliver an outstanding wine for their customers and to have gained a listing so quickly for Sette Muri Brindisi Riserva is clear evidence of the potential Italian wine still has in the UK market.”
