Plumpton College launches Wine Talks programme

Plumpton College has launched the first in a new series of Wine Talks.

The wine education and training centre is introducing Plumpton Wine Talks whereby wine enthusiasts will be invited to the venue throughout the year for an evening of informal presentations on fundamental issues concerning the wine industry.

Professor Barry Smith, a director of the Institute of Philosophy at the University of London’s School of Advanced Study and the founder of the Centre for the Study of the Sense, will deliver the first session on 6 December, entitled: “Why is a wine tasting so hard…”

Chris Foss, head of Plumpton Wine Division, said: “We are delighted to welcome Professor Barry Smith as our first guest of the Plumpton Wine Talks. Wine education and business are more important that ever in today’s market. We want to offer great workshops with a strong academic and practical focus that wine enthusiasts and students can learn from and go on to put their new skills into practice.”

Future Plumpton Wine Talks in 2018 have already been confirmed, and will include:

Joe Fattorini – The Wine Show

John Atkinson MW – Billecart-Salmon
