Tamdhu aims to light up Christmas sales with lantern gift tin

12 October, 2017

Tamdhu single malt Scotch as released a special edition lantern-shaped whisky gift tin.

The limited edition Tamdhu 10 Year Old tins are based on lantern designs that would have been commonplace when Tamdhu was founded.

Brand director Iain Weir said: “The new gift tins are a tribute to the distillery’s 120-year history, and are inspired by the Victorian lanterns which would have been common in 1897 when Tamdhu was founded.

“The lantern design perfectly presents the beautiful shape of the Tamdhu bottle, and the natural colour of the exclusively sherry oak-matured malt whisky inside.

“It’s the perfect present for lovers of good whisky, and we believe they’ll be a very popular gifting option for Tamdhu fans this Christmas.”

Waitrose, Booths and Oddbins are among the retailers listing the tins which have an rrp of £38.49.

The tins are designed to take a battery-operated tea-light for use as a lantern when the whisky has been consumed.

These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
