September launch for Piper-Heidsieck's Essentiel cuvée
Champagne house Piper-Heidsieck is releasing a new cuvée aimed at top end independents and the on-trade in September.
Piper-Heidsieck Essentiel uses the same base wines as the brand’s Brut NV with an additional 12-18 months of ageing and lower dosage.
It is being positioned as “the ideal gastronomic Champagne” for pairing with seafood.
Chef de caves Régis Camus said: “I am proud of this Extra-Brut cuvée which symbolises the essence of our Champagnes.
“Wanting to highlight the uniqueness of Essentiel, we have decided to display additional information on the label such as the disgorgement and cellaring dates to communicate that extra level of detail to an engaged Champagne audience.”
The new Champagne has an rrp of £37.99. Piper-Heidsieck is distributed by William Grants Sons UK.
