Cono Sur reveals limited edition Tour de France labels

Cono Sur plans to celebrate its status as Official Wine of Le Tour de France with a new limited edition range of labels.

The designs, by artist and cyclist Eliza Southwood, celebrate the feats of Miguel Indurain, who won the cycling event five consecutive times in the 1990s. The labels are also a nod to the bicycles used by worked throughout Cono Sur’s vineyards in Chile.

Cono Sur’s brand manager, James Hick, said: “Bikes are an integral part of the Cono Sur story, thanks to the workers in Chimbarongo in Chile who pick the grapes travelling around the vineyards by bike. It is fantastic for us to collaborate again with Eliza Southwood, and to capture the moment when Miguel Indurain took the initiative in one of the great Tour stages.”

Cono Sur’s Bicicleta Pinot Noir sold 1.27 million cases in the UK over the last 52 weeks (IRI), representing value growth of 16% compared to the previous year.

The limited edition bottles will be in store from mid-June. The 104th Tour de France kicks off on 1 July 2017 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
