Freixenet launches premium Prosecco

Freixenet, the well-known Cava producer, is set to launch a Prosecco into the UK this summer.

Freixenet Prosecco uses Glera grapes from the Veneto region to create a premium sparkling wine, with fresh floral and citrus aromas, along with flavours of ripe lemon, green apple and grapefruit.

The wine is presented in a striking cut-glass bottle, to increase shelf standout.

Liza Madrigal, marketing director UK, said: “Our highly skilled winemaking team wanted to produce an exceptional Prosecco, which comes with the reassurance of quality the Freixenet name brings. With our team in the renowned Veneto region, employing technical expertise, we have produced a wine that we are enormously proud to include in our range.

“Freixenet Prosecco is not just another Prosecco. It is a high quality product, created via extensive research into every aspect of this hugely popular varietal; from the liquid itself, to the packaging. We are confident in this new product bringing us even closer to becoming the number one choice for sparkling wine with consumers, while continuing to add value to the category.”

Freixenet Prosecco will be available in Ocado, Tesco and other select retailers this summer, priced at £12.

This summer the brand will be on show in a new vintage van, which will tour the country visiting festivals and outdoor events
