Halewood adds new wines from Rioja

Rioja brand, Marques de Caceres, has released a series of new vintages, which will be available to the UK market via is Halewood Wines & Spirits.

The Spanish wine producer has released Guadium 2012, in addition to Marques de Caceres Crianza 2013, Rose 2016 and White 2016, all from Rioja; and Marques de Caceres Verdejo 2016 from its new winery in Rueda.

The 2012 Gaudium is described as “an elegant and unique vintage” with complex balsamic notes of wild berries, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate and cedarwood. The wines hails from exceptionally old vines – up to 120 years old -  in the Rioja region, and are then aged in oak for 18-20 months.

Dan Harwood, head of wine education at Halewood, said: “In my job, I’ve tasted countless wines and Gaudium 2012 is truly exceptional. It is specifically for wine lovers who want an extra special bottle, and they won’t be around forever so demand is sure to be high.

“We are always looking for the best wines to offer our customers and with the most recent additions to our portfolio we have achieved just that.”
