Pinkster reveals Valentine's edition

17 January, 2017

Pinkster Gin has launched its first limited edition bottle for Valentine’s Day.

The newcomer contains the same Pinkster Gin but has a love heart label, which has the strapline ‘Let the love beGin’.

The bespoke 70cl bottle is priced £35, and will be available direct and via regular wholesale channels.

The company said: “Hopefully this will encourage shoppers to trade up from chocolate and ensure love at first sip”.

The launch of the Valentine’s edition coincides with the news that gin sales grew 14.5% to £420m in UK supermarkets in 2016, making it the best performing spirits category.

“Gin is the spirit of choice right now and we don’t see this changing any time soon,” said Martin Wood, head of strategic retail insight at IRI Retail Advantage, which measures sales at the UK’s top nine retailers.

Its research showed gin sales soared in the approach to Christmas, with sales growing 18.3% in the 12 weeks to December 31, compared to the same period the previous year.

There's not going to be a campaign for that for much longer

The campaign name There’s A Beer For That may have got cynics like me trying to think of things there wasn’t a beer for, but broadly speaking it was a force for good.
