Conviviality acquires 15 convenience stores in South East

12 December, 2016

Conviviality Retail has acquired a 15-strong portfolio of convenience stores in the South East of England, with the aim of converting the majority into Bargain Booze stores.

Conviviality has announced it has bought the entire share capital of KMD Enterprises, which comprises a collection of 15 convenience stores. Most of the 15 will be turned into Bargain Booze Select Convenience fascia stores, and these will then be added to Conviviality Retail’s existing estate of more than 700 stores.

The company said the acquisition aims to improve awareness for the Select Convenience brand in the South East of England. It also further delivers on its strategy to add quality stores to its portfolio across the UK.

David Robinson, MD of Conviviality Retail, said: “The acquisition of KMD further strengthens our convenience store business, and again demonstrates our ambitious growth plans in this area. These new stores are located in the South East of England and this is an important geographic expansion for Conviviality Retail as our brands are currently underrepresented in this region. We will continue to grow our store estate, partnering with both new and existing franchisees to help them grow their store portfolios with quality, well-located retail outlets. We look forward to working with all our new colleagues and helping them serve the communities in which they operate.”
