OLN publisher buys SITT

OLN publisher Agile Media has acquired SITT, the leading tasting for independent drinks merchants, from William Reed.

The Specialist Importers Trade Tasting is a crucial event for both new and seasoned trade professionals, across the independent on- and off-trade sectors.

Lee Sharkey, publisher of OLN and sister title Harpers Wine & Spirit, said: “Since Judy Kendrick launched SITT more than 10 years ago it has become one of the most important and best loved tastings in the trade. It is a fantastic tasting with masses of potential. 

“We think that a smaller, more drinks-focused publisher such as Agile Media will be able to really cherish this brand and develop it as we have done with our other products.”

Andrew Reed, managing director responsible for wine assets at William Reed, added: “This is a vibrant and well run tasting exhibition and I’m sure that Lee and her team will be able to provide the focus and commitment that it needs to take it to the next level.

Meanwhile William Reed has bought The World’s 50 Best Bars from Agile. OLN sister title Drinks International will continue to produce a results magazine for William Reed to be handed out on the night, as an exclusive trade media partner.
