Domaine Barons Rothschild (Lafite) looks to expand UK presence

Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) wines is gearing up for an enhanced presence in the UK following the appointment of a dedicated sales director.

Helen Miller, formerly of E&J Gallo Winery, will represent DBR (Lafite) branded wines in the UK as a national sales director for Waddesdon Wines (WW), which is part of the Rothschild Foundation. The company imports and markets the wines from the Rothschild wineries.

Consequently, Miller will represent wines from Vina Los Vascos in Chile, Bodegas Caro in Argentina, Domaine d’Aussieres in Corbieres, France; and the Legende range from Bordeaux. She will also have access to Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Duhart-Milon, Chateau L’Evangile and Chateau Rieussec.

Chris Campbell, WW ceo, said: “As we continue to carefully grow the volumes of DBR (Lafite) in the UK, it was crucial we recruited an individual with gravitas and rigour, who has worked extensively with significant UK accounts. It was also important that we recruited someone with first-rate commercial acumen, and who recognizes the significance of working with a family company who has been producing Grand Vin at the highest level for over 150 years.”

Miller said: “It is a real privilege to be working with the DBR (Lafite) wines at such an exciting time. I very much look forward to building on such robust foundations.  The DBR (Lafite) name offers an unparalleled assurance of quality and I feel extremely fortunate to be working with the wines, the Lafite history and the people.  We are looking to work with carefully selected new customers, while developing business with our existing and loyal customer base.”
