Global Brands invests in logistics as demand grows for its core brands

Global Brands is opening a new 110,000 square foot warehouse and distribution depot to help meet growing demand for its products.

The new warehouse, which will be situated at Clay Cross in North East Derbyshire, is the latest of a series of investments by the independent drinks business, as it works to support the increase in demand across its core brands.

The company, which was founded in 1997 by chairman Steve Perez, has 250 skus across RTDs, spirits, beers and soft drinks, including VK, Hooch, Jungfrau, Amigos and Franklin & Sons premium soft drinks.

Global Brands said all of its core brands showed volume growth in the year to September 2016, while its RTD brand VK posted its best September since 2013.

The new site will give Global Brands better accessibility to major roads and transport links and therefore improved logistics and efficiency. The company has also increased its workforce, creating 25 new jobs in the Derbyshire area.

The six acre plot will also support the future expansion plans of the business, which includes a focus on its growing export offering.

Perez said: “As Global Brands continues to expand, we are thrilled to be bringing the company distribution centre back to its roots in Derbyshire. The added floor space allows us to be flexible and meet the increased demand from our customers now and in the future.”
