Chivas reveals first blended malt whisky

18 October, 2016

Chivas Regal is introducing its first blended malt whisky, crafted from five of Speyside’s signature single Malts.

These five Malts used to create Chivas Regal Ultis (£180) have been selected in homage to five generations of Chivas Master Blenders.

Magin Trewhella, head of marketing for Dark Spirits at Pernod Ricard, said: “Our master blenders have been at the heart of Chivas Regal since 1909, during which time only five men have spent their life’s work mastering our famous house style: Charles Howard, Charles Julian, Allan Baillie, Jimmy Lang and Colin Scott. In celebration of their dedication and talent, we have hand-selected only five of our most precious signature single Malts – each one to honour the legacy of five generations of blending excellence. The treasured single Malts are distilled exclusively in copper pot stills and the result is an exceptional luxury whisky with complex flavours, a glorious golden hue and a commanding rich aroma.”

The design of the Ultis bottle aims to represent craftsmanship and modernity, with textures and patterns that inject a sense of luxury. It has a new bottle shape that is more slender and tall with a sleek accompanying gift box.

Richard Black, Chivas Regal Global Brand Director, commented: “To launch the first blended malt Scotch whisky from the House of Chivas is truly a momentous occasion. Chivas Regal Ultis represents the essence of Chivas Regal and is a fitting tribute to our legendary craftsmen of the past, with recognition of the luxury quality of our Scotch whisky portfolio. Chivas Regal Ultis is set to appeal to discerning drinkers looking to impress at special occasions as well as Scotch whisky aficionados searching for their next luxury whisky experience.”
