Gin infused with cucumber is set to battle for shelf space

04 October, 2016

The English Drinks Company has launched Cucumber Gin, described as a smooth aromatic gin with a subtle cucumber infusion.

The premium gin is hand-crafted and copper–distilled and is made from 100% British grain. The 40% abv premium dry gin is described by the company as “the quintessential essence of an English summer: crisp cucumber scents combine with an aromatic juniper base to deliver a contemporary drink with a unique taste”.

The English Drinks Company is an independent UK producer owned by Essential Health Products Ltd, which has a portfolio of natural products, including the Qcumber soft drinks range.

Company founder, Graham Carr-Smith, said: “We set out to deliver an authentic cucumber gin rather than merely a gin flavoured with cucumber. Cucumber Gin is a premium product with a delicate yet pronounced flavour.

“We use only premium ingredients and employ a traditional method of infusion using copper pots. We’re uncompromising in our approach, which is something we know that our discerning target market will appreciate.

“Our aim was to offer a twist on traditional gin and create a product that was all about the cucumber.  Cucumber Gin has achieved our objective: it delivers on flavour and is perfect when enjoyed neat over ice or in a delectable G&T.

“Cucumber Gin is the only spirit we produce and we’re determined to make it a success with trade stockists and consumers alike.”
