Pierhead links with brewer of God Lager

05 September, 2016

Pierhead Drinks is to distribute Swedish brewer Nils Oscar’s beers in the UK.

The family-owned microbrewery Nils Oscar has a range of beers available for the UK off-trade, including its popular God Lager; ‘God’ meaning ‘tasty’ or ‘good’ in Swedish.

Nils Oscar’s God Lager is the brewery’s best-selling beer; it has malty characteristics and citrus notes in the background.

The brewer also has Nils Oscar India Ale; an English-style IPA with American hops; Session IPA, which is an American-style IPA and just 4.2% abv; and it also has a Pale Ale, described as being “a bit strong for a pale ale at 6.7% abv, but it’s the flavour that counts”.

The current brewery opened its doors in 1996 in Stockholm with the aim of creating high quality Swedish craft beers. Nils Oscar is currently owned by three sisters, Nils Oscar’s great-grandchildren.
