Kopparberg unveils cider in a keg in time for summer

27 June, 2016

Kopparberg has launched a limited-edition Kopparkeg, to help encourage its fans to share their fruit cider this summer.

The latest innovation from the Swedish cider producer will be on shelf for a limited time between July and August this year.

The keg (rsp £18), which has a capacity of five litres, will hold Kopparberg’s fastest-growing and second largest variant, Strawberry & Lime.

Jodie Alliss, senior marketing manager at Kopparberg commented: “We know that Kopparberg Fruit Cider continues to be a really popular drink of choice for our millennial audience, and one they increasingly like to share with their friends and family. It’s why we’ve taken the decision to launch a unique serve in the form of KopparKeg, an innovative and even-easier way for our consumers to share and enjoy a refreshing fruit cider at BBQs and other social occasions this summer.”

Last year the producer launched Kopparberg Premium Frozen Fruit Cider; a pouched product in two flavours.

Separately, Kopparberg has Alcuin launched a new multi-million pound marketing campaign called ‘Fanga Dagen’, which is the Swedish way of say ‘life is what you make it’.

Alliss commented: “We’re thrilled to be launching the ‘Fånga Dagen’ campaign, an incredibly exciting and landmark moment for the Kopparberg brand. Not many people know that Kopparberg is still made in the small Swedish town of the same name and owned by the Bronsman family that started it all 23 years ago. It’s why we resonate with ‘Fånga Dagen’ – this mindset is the reason for Kopparberg’s existence, and is central to our brand’s provenance and pioneering spirit.“

The shops that stand out from the madding crowd

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
