Bibendum PLB launches its first Chinese wine

04 May, 2016

Bibendum PLB is gearing up to unveil the latest addition to its portfolio – a Chinese wine from Chateau Changyu Moser XV in Ningxia.

The Moser XV Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 wine, which will launch at the London Wine Fair this week, will be the first of several Chinese wines the distributor plans to add to its list this year.

Buying director Andrew Shaw said: “The future is huge for Chinese wine. Financial and cultural investment by the government and individuals, and growing supplier confidence, will inevitably propel Chinese wine onto the global stage. ‘Regionality’, ‘varietal expression’ and ‘terroir’ are becoming watch-words as never before, with Cabernet Sauvignon at the forefront in terms of grape varieties. We are entering a very exciting chapter for Chinese wine and I’m keen to support their industry and position Bibendum PLB as the UK market leader in the category.

“We intend to bring in more Chinese wines this year, from a variety of different suppliers, such is our belief in the region. We are extremely excited to be launching this Cabernet from Changyu Moser to rival Cabernet Sauvignon from all over the world at this price point”

The winery opened in 2013 with legendary Austrain winemaker, Lenz Moser, as a key partner.
