Guinness reveals TV ad for Hop House 13

19 April, 2016

Guinness is rolling out a new campaign for its Hop House 13, the latest innovation from The Brewers Project.

The new seven-figure campaign, which launches this month, will include the first TV advert for the newcomer in the UK. The TV ad will run for five weeks and will be supported by social media activity.

Hop House 13 is a premium-crafted lager brewed with Guinness yeast, Irish barley and hops from both Australia and USA. The beer was launched in Ireland last year and more recently it had a full UK launch, including the off-trade as well as on-trade outlets.

The new campaign aims to drive awareness of the launch, while also showcasing the quality and craftsmanship of the brand.

Stephen O’Kelly, marketing director for Guinness, said: “Consumer excitement for products created with craftsmanship and character has brought a new energy into the world of beer.”

Hop House 13 is the fourth release from The Brewers Project, joining Guinness Dublin Porter, Guinness West Indies Porter and Guinness Golden Ale.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
