Litmus Wines creates Litmus Wine Agencies

04 April, 2016

Litmus Wines has created a new subsidiary company, Litmus Wine Agencies, to separate the growing wine sales side of the business from contract winemaking and wine production consultancy.

The UK-based international wine business consultancy was set up in 2008 by wine consultant John Worontschak with the aim of making and selling wines and helping others to do the same.

Litmus Wine Agencies represents “an eclectic portfolio” of wines from worldwide producers, including the iconic Australian Chris Ringland, and the South African joint venture between Litmus Wines and Virgin Limited Edition, Mont Rochelle. The company also manages sales of Litmus Wines’ own branded English wines.

Nick Connell, former head of sales at Lay & Wheeler, joins Litmus Wine Agencies as sales manager with responsibility for all sales channels, including multiples, independents and on-trade.

John Worontshak, said: “The incorporation of Litmus Wine Agencies marks a major milestone in the growth of our business. Nick coming on board now completes this step and will help us to take the development of the Litmus brand to the next stage.”
