London and Edinburgh celebrated in Johnnie Walker limited editions

Johnnie Walker has released two limited City Edition bottles for its luxury Blue Label blend.

The 4,000 numbered bottles feature a cityscape of either London or Edinburgh and come in blue gift boxes featuring famous landmarks.

Nick Temperley, head of supplier Diageo Reserve GB, said: “Consumers are constantly looking for innovative products and gifts, and the launch of the City Edition bottles provides them with the luxury liquid they know and love while offering an added value of exclusivity and craft.”

The City Editions are available from selected retailers including The Whisky Shop, The Whisky Exchange, 31 Dover and specialist whisky outlets, at an rrp of £199.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
