Manchester craft brewer to expand after Tesco listing

23 April, 2015

Manchester craft brewer Seven Bro7hers is planning to expand its production capacity after winning a listing at Tesco.

The brewery is run by the seven McAvoy brothers – Keith, Kit, Guy, Luke, Dan, Nathan and Greg – out of Salford Quays and has listings across the UK.

But a new listing at around 100 Tesco stores in the northwest region has convinced it to expand.

Keith McAvoy said: “Our beers have been received so well.

“We distribute across the country as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Cornwall, as well as Ireland and Scandinavia.

“It was really important to us that the product was first class and the feedback we are getting has given us the confidence to just forge ahead.”

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
