Sopexa makes port producer its first non-French client

19 March, 2015

Sopexa has added the first non-French brand to its portfolio after becoming a private agency that can represent estates from across the world.

It was formerly a marketing agency for French wine only, but now it has added Portuguese producer Sogevinus to its ranks.

Sogevinus produces four premium port brands – Kopke, Barros, Burmester and Calem – along with still wines from Douro.

Anne Burchett, managing director at Sopexa UK, said:  “It is particularly exciting to be working with a non-French brand as this emphasises this agency’s ability to work across regional borders.”

Sogevinus was the first port company in the Portuguese market, and Kopke is the oldest port house. Sogevinus is particularly renowned for its Colheita oak-aged ports.

Tânia Branco Oliveira, PR & communication director, added: “This will be our first step into the UK market and it is vital that we communicate in the right way to the right people at the right time so that they understand exactly the unique selling points of our four port brands.

“Our brands are premium quality, hand-crafted ports, which are in tune with the contemporary and aspirational life-style that both the consumer and trade in the UK are looking for.”
