Jeremy Rockett takes over Marblehead

Former Gonzalez Byass marketing supremo and OLN columnist Jeremy Rocket has become managing director at Marblehead.

He will be responsible for gin brands including Greenall's, Bloom, Berkeley Square and Opihr at Marblehead, the UK brand development arm of the Quintessential Brands Group. 

Rocket replaces Emma Wykes who has been in managerial positions at Marblehead for six years.

He was a founding member of Gonzalez Byass UK and spent 10 years as marketing director before leaving in 2014. Rockett looked after the marketing for brands such as Beronia, Tio Pepe, London No1 gin and Soberano brandy, and a number of agencies including Quinta do Noval port, Jackson Estate from New Zealand, Wirra Wirra from South Australia, Undurraga from Chile and Champagne Deutz.

Quintessential Brands co-founder Warren Scott said: “He brings a wealth of management experience to the Group and his particular expertise working with the prestige on-trade fits perfectly with Marblehead’s plans for growth.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
