WKD launches Christmas campaign

WKD has launched a Christmas campaign giving consumers the chance to win Christmas presents for their friends and themselves.

Gift Tag A Mate is a social media campaign in which consumers can win prizes for their friends by tagging them in a social media post.

But they can’t choose the gift their friends will receive – and it might be a big bag of brussels sprouts.

On Saturday nights in December, in the night life centres of 10 key cities around the country, WKD will project a sign saying “Tweet a pic of this sign for #WKDSurprises”. Anyone who does so is in with the chance of winning mystery prizes for themselves.

Debs Carter, marketing director for alcohol at distributor SHS Drinks, said: “WKD is all about having fun with friends and our two interactive Christmas campaigns will generate chat among mates – both online and on nights out.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
