Oddbins doubles own-label craft beer range

05 November, 2014

Oddbins has teamed up with a pair of small breweries to launch two craft beers as part of its own-label offering.

The retailer first teamed up with London’s East End brewery to launch a beer called Oddbins No 1 last Christmas, and followed it up with Oddbins No 2 – a collaboration with Oxfordshire brewery Compass – in May 2014.

It said it was buoyed by the success of these beers, so it has now launched Oddbins No 3 with Scotland-based Alechemy Brewery and Oddbins No 4 in partnership with Moncada, another London brewery.

Sarah Hamilton, Oddbins’ local beer buyer, said: “The UK craft brewing industry today is a very exciting place full of people with true passion for their craft and it is always inspirational to work with these people to continue the Oddbins craft beer collaboration journey.

“Both Oddbins No 3 and No 4 are very special beers showcasing two ends of the IPA spectrum, made at two ends of the UK.”
Oddbins No 3 is a 5% abv black IPA that uses four types of malt and retails at £2.80.

Oddbins No 4 is also 5% abv but it is “from the opposite end of the IPA spectrum” and is “reminiscent of a Belgian style wheat beer in body and flavour”. This beer retails at £3.60.
