Girvan Patent Still launches fourth expression

06 October, 2014

William Grant & Sons is set to release the fourth expression of The Girvan Patent Still single grain Scotch whisky.

Proof Strength weighs in at 51.7% abv – the alcoholic strength at which gunpowder ignites – and aims to commemorate the days when spirits would be poured over gunpowder to check their strength.

The whisky is to retail for £75 and will be available to whisky specialists from next month.

Its release follows successful launches for The Girvan Patent Still 25 Year Old, 30 Year Old and No 4 Apps.

Global whisky specialist Kevin Abrook said: “We’re thrilled to release a proof strength expression for whisky enthusiasts looking for something different – a vibrant, punchy single grain whisky with a surprisingly light aftertaste. The release demonstrates our commitment to quality and just how versatile single grain whiskies can be.”
