Innis & Gunn toasts 15% sales growth

Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn is celebrating after 15% sales growth saw it break through the £10 million barrier for the first time.

It sold £10.5 million worth of beer in 2013, according to annual accounts it has just posted, and growth was driven by UK sales.

The brewer said surging off-trade sales meant the proportion of beer sold in the UK rose from 22% to 29%.

The brewer’s flagship beer, Original, is now the best-selling bottled ale by value in the Scottish off-trade (IRI, year to May 2014).

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
