Nisa's Jones to join Conviviality as chief operating officer

02 September, 2014

Bargain Booze owner Conviviality Retail has appointed Amanda Jones as its chief operating officer, with effect from December 1.

She will join Conviviality in the newly-created role from Nisa Retail, where she has been chief operating officer since early 2013.

Jones was at Waitrose from 2002 to 2013, where she ended up as head of development (home).

She was with Marks & Spencer from 1990 to 2002, her last role there as business development manager for the international franchise group.

Chief executive Diana Hunter said: ”She brings with her unrivalled experience and an impressive track record in the independent retail and convenience segment which is highly relevant to the company at this stage in its development.”

Conviviality has also appointed Samantha McIlreavey as senior recruitment executive, tasked with bringing high calibre independent retailers into the group as franchisees.

She is currently new business recruitment manager at Costcutter and moves on September 15.

Hunter added: “These appointments are key for Conviviality and add further credence to the growing momentum which is inherent within the business as we work towards our aim to be regarded as the UK’s leading value off-licence and convenience retailer.“
