Waitrose offers veggie food wine case

Waitrose Cellar has created what is claims is the perfect pre-selected case of wines for vegetarians.

The case of six wines is available through its Waitrose Cellar online service and comes with complementary recipes created by Gordon McDermott, head chef at the Waitrose Cookery School in north London.

It is being sold at £70 and comprises bottles of: Waitrose Cederberg Chenin Blanc 2013 from South Africa; 
Ch‚teau Roquefort Roquefortissime 2012 from Bordeaux; Norton Winemakerís Reserve Malbec, LujŠn de Cuyo 2011 from Argentina; Cave de Turckheim GewŁrztraminer 2012 from Alsace;
 Stonier Pinot Noir 2011 from Australia;
 Araldica Corsini Barbaresco2010/2011 from Italy.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle Ė which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
