Bibendum to handle Beerd beers

10 June, 2014

Bath Ales has signed a distribution deal with Bibendum Wine for its Beerd craft brewery, set up a year ago.

Bibendum will handle Beerd’s Silvertip and Monocle beers, the first time they have appeared in bottles.

Bath ales managing director Robin Couling said: “We launched Beerd last year to enable us to experiment with new styles of beer without taking focus away from our core range.

“Beerd beers have proved very popular regionally and we feel that Beerd could go very far in the UK market.”

Monocle is a 5.3% IPA and Silvertip a 4.7% pale ale made with New Zealand hops.

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
