Tesco reshuffles beer and cider team

28 April, 2014

Jack Marland has taken over as lager buying manager at Tesco as part of a reshuffle of the beer and cider team at Britain’s largest retailer.

Marland joins the team from the seasonal confectionary category to replace the outgoing James MacNay.

Tesco said his “experience across both marketing and commercial will be a great asset to the team during the World Cup campaign”.

Olivia Christou has been promoted to buyer and will take over the cider category from Amy Bird, while Hayley Easton has been appointed junior buyer.

Easton graduated from Brunel University in 2013 and has since been working in Tesco’s Leighton Buzzard store supporting the customer service team.

Chiara Nesbitt will continue in her role as Buyer for Bitters, Ales and Stouts.

Category buying manager John Storm said: “The beer team experienced a strong year and I know the new team will continue our focus on developing a world class beer and cider category, exceeding our customers’ expectations.”
