Bargain Booze franchisees given bonuses

10 March, 2014

Bargain Booze and Thorougoods franchisees will share around £180,000 in bonuses under a reward scheme launched by owner Conviviality Retail.

Conviviality said most franchisees had hit targets and would be entitled to cash under the scheme’s first series of payments, which will be made this month.

They receive a bonus on a quarterly basis and payments are graduated so that the more stores a Franchisee has the higher the percentage paid out.

Chief executive Diana Hunter said: “Building strong relationships with our Franchisees is the key to our success, and launching our reward scheme is part of our commitment to them.

“We aim to offer a range of market-leading incentives to our Franchisees to help them deliver business growth and boost their profitability, alongside the great deals we supply every week.”

Conviviality runs Britain’s largest off-licence empire and also trades under the Wine Rack and Select fascias.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
