Memorial service for Michael Cox announced

03 March, 2014

A memorial service for Michael Cox will take place at Southwark Cathedral on Thursday, April 10.

Cox, former head of Wines of Chile and Master of the Vintners Company, died at home two weeks ago following a year-long battle with cancer.

The service will take place at 3.30pm, but the cathedral has asked that nobody arrives before 3pm as there is a preceding service.

Cox’s twin brother David, chief executive at drinks charity The Benevolent, said he and Cox’s widow Lynne are in the process of arranging a venue locally so that guests can share a glass of wine afterwards.

He requested no flowers, but said if anyone would like to make a donation to send it to The Vintners’ Foundation or St. Michael’s Hospice Basingstoke c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Alderman House, 12-14 City Road, Winchester SO23 8SD or via www.rsponline.co.uk
