Tesco expands wine team

17 February, 2014

Tesco has bolstered its wine team by plucking Charlotte Lemoine from the shop floor at Majestic and turning her into an assistant product developer.

Lemoine spent three years at Majestic, where she was a senior assistant manager, and she impressed Tesco with her grasp of the commercial side of the wine business.

She will be responsible for Italian wine, alongside buyer Richard McKeown.

James Griswood, product development manager at Britain’s largest retailer, said: “Charlotte demonstrated enthusiasm and has a sound knowledge of the wine trade, as well as a good awareness of the more commercial aspects of the industry.”

Before joining Majestic, Lemoine worked in France and Australia as a recruitment consultant and Griswood added: “With the breadth of experience she has gained from her time working in offices in Paris and Sydney, as well as her last three years with Majestic, I’m sure Charlotte will make a strong addition to the team.”

Lemoine joins category product development manager Laura Jewell MW, Graham Nash, Griswood and Lucy Clements in Tesco’s wine product development team.
