Origin moves into Scandinavia

09 December, 2013

Origin Wine is opening a new office in Sweden in a bid to break into the Nordic markets.

It joins offices in South Africa, where Origin is one of the leading exporters, as well as the UK, Switzerland, Russia and South America.

Chief executive Bernard Fonatannaz said: “We believe in the Nordic markets and see them as strategic, so it is important to have someone close to it, who is able to support the brands and to keep an eye on trends and opportunities.

“To do so, we are pleased to announce that Anastasia De Re has been appointed as Nordic account manager.”

De Re, who will be based at Origin Nordic, said: “It is a pleasure and a privilege to be given the opportunity to work for such a successful company as Origin Wine.

"Given the current situation in the world I believe that it is also important to work with sustainable methods and Origin Wine has definitely thought of this. I am looking forward to this challenge and to see how we can grow across the Nordic markets.”

Fontannaz added that Origin has exported more than 800,000 hl of wine from South Africa in 2013 so far.
