Vergelegen signs to John E Fells

20 November, 2013

South African producer Vergelegen will transfer its agency from PLB to John E Fells on January 2.

Fells will be the exclusive distributor for a portfolio that includes the Premium, Reserve, GVB and V ranges.
Vergelegen’s UK market manager Laura Sullivan said: “The last few years have been instrumental in cementing our presence in the UK market.

“But we now feel that John E Fells, which is one of the UK’s leading fine wine distribution businesses, has the right approach to help us build our brand further with the specialist, independent and on-trade channels.”
Fells managing director Steve Moody said he was “delighted” to take on Vergelegen.

The 160ha estate is around 6km from the Atlantic Ocean in the Stellenbosch region, and around a third of its output is Cabernet.
