Finca Las Moras joins PLB line-up

15 November, 2013

Importer PLB has added Argentinian winery Finca Las Moras to its portfolio.

The winery is part is part of Grupo Peñaflor and was named Argentine Producer of the Year 2013 at the recent IWSC awards.

Sales director John Osborne said: “Las Moras boasts real breadth of portfolio, from a top quality premium branded offer through to an impressive scale operation.”

Finca Las Moras has been trying to push its Dada range – which has 14g of sugar per litre – into the UK market and believes buyers are starting to think about consumer’s sweet tooths when compiling ranges.

The wines are inspired by a 1920s art movement called Dadaism which flouted conventions, and the winery hopes they will attract younger consumers to the category.

It also sells a wide range of wines from £5.99 at entry level to £30 icon wines.

Its export manager Ramiro Barrios said: “PLB are a highly professional team with a wealth of industry knowledge and market expertise. This significant step forward demonstrates our commitment to continue leading the Argentine wine category and it will allow us to further strengthen the presence of Finca Las Moras brands in the UK market.”

The wines will be available for tasting at PLB’s regional roadshows taking place in 2014:  Edinburgh on March 4; Manchester on March 5; and London on March 6.
