Gin brand hopes to cash in on Ashes mania

Greenall’s Gin has timed its new sponsorship of Lancashire Country Cricket Club perfectly as the biggest match in cricket heads to the team’s Old Trafford home on Thursday.

The London gin brand has signed a five-figure deal to become the official gin at the team’s ground until July 2014.

This week the England team head to Old Trafford to play Australia in the third Ashes test – the fiercest rivalry in international cricket – and if they win they will clinch the series.

Cricket fans can enjoy a gin from Greenall’s Gin in the Ashes Village area of the stadium, which is expected to attract over 10,000 people during each of the series’ five days.

Sinead O’Frighil, global brands development manager at Greenall’s, said: “We are proud to be the only supplier of gin at such a prestigious and highly coveted sporting event that combines two of the Great British traditions – the G&T and cricket.

“We’re especially delighted to be working with another great brand from north west England.”
