Carling British Cider makes TV debut

Carling British Cider has made its small screen debut with an ad designed to “champion British sense of humour” as a man attempts to combine bungee jumping with apple bobbing.

The new ad builds on Carling’s “refreshingly perfect” campaign, which also includes outdoor, mobile and digital advertising for Molson Coors’ lager and cider brands.

Jeremy Gibson, Carling brand director, said: “The new advert champions our refreshing British humour and sense of fun while making a big splash to herald the arrival of a fantastic product that beats the competition on taste and refreshment.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
