Tesco pleased with LIWF speed-tasting event

Tesco said it “did some really good business” at the London International Wine Fair after meeting more than 100 suppliers at a speed-tasting event.

Britain’s largest retailer met with suppliers from 18 countries and said it hopes to introduce new and interesting wines to its range.

The team was divided into seven tasting stations to keeping waiting times down, and 116 suppliers were each given 10 minutes to pitch to the buyers.

Product development manager Laura Jewell MW said: “We had a fun and productive day, and the team did some really good business. 

“The team received plenty of positive feedback about the initiative and we are very excited to see what comes from the follow-up meetings we have lined up.”
