Booker offers indies free Epos systems

27 March, 2012

Booker is offering independent retailers free Epos systems if they commit to spending more at their local cash and carry.

The wholesaler will then deliver the free Epos system within three to five days, including a laser printer, thermal receipt printer and internet scanner, which will be maintained and supported by the Retail Data Partnership.

Retail sales director Steve Fox said: “Epos systems are an essential part of an independent store and we are delighted to be providing it free of charge for our customers.

“This system helps retailers improve and develop their business efficiencies including price changes, stock levels and promotions. It is also a great way of ordering, saving both time and effort. The system can also produce reports to help retailers identify profitable lines, slow sellers and category sales.

“It has been robustly tested with over 200 retailers so this is a great opportunity for retailers to take their business to the next level.”

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
