Majestic wins e-commerce award

Majestic has been given an award for its innovative use of online media.

The retailer was shortlisted against big names in e-commerce such as Google and House of Fraser, and won the prize for Innovation in Multichannel Marketing at the Econsultancy Innovation Awards.

Majestic was recognised for the web pages for each of its 176 stores and its effective use of Twitter.

The judges said: “Majestic successfully integrated its in-store and web experience, giving individual stores the ability to customise their own web pages to reflect what was happening in-store.

“A full-bodied strategy and vintage execution which allowed branches to engage simply and directly with wine lovers in the local community, and to harness the knowledge of in-store staff online.”

The shops that stand out from the madding crowd

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
